Why is my computer so slow? I just bought it!

Working as a computer repair technician in Orlando, I hear this a lot. Usually my Orlando customers get computers for as little as they can (we all do) and they don't pay attention to what they are getting. Sure the computer works great when you play with it at the store but when you actually start using it, it will slow down. The free solution is to use Windows built in Disk Tools. They are called Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter. You can find them by right clicking on the C: drice and hitting Properties. Disk Cleanup will be underneath the pie chart and Disk Defragmenter will be under the Tools Tab. Run these two programs at least once a month to keep your computer running as smoth as possible.

If you are willing to spend some money, you can add some memory. Memory is one of the least expensive upgrades on a computer and it will make your computer work better, especially if you are running Windows Vista. Memory will cost you anywhere from $30.00 to $200.00 depending on capacity and availability.
